The Boatyard

This site is a dilapidated historical Boatyard on the quayside of the Salcombe Estuary and is a Brownfield site. It has a varied history including shipbuilding and delivery quayside, of late it’s been the home of a yard for storage of yachts during off season and maintenance yard.

The owner was planning his retirement and wanted the best financial return for his property. We resolved environmental issues associated with the site, including Flood risk and Contamination and secured a planning consent for 4 waterside town houses. The homes designed on the site maximise the fabulous views of the picturesque Estuary and surround AONB countryside. Each of the 4 homes constructed on site has it’s own internal lift serving the 3 floors, has 3 or 4 ensuite bedrooms, along with spacious living/dining/kitchens and separate lounges.

Fabulous balconies grace the estuary facing elevation across the whole width of each home, on 2 separate levels, accessed through stylish aluminium sliding doors. Other features within the property include NEST remote heating controllers, intercom system, fire sprinklers system and alarm, oak and glass staircases and custom made kitchens with Corian work surfaces, stylish fully tiled bathrooms with Vado taps and Laufan Sanitary ware.

We’ve strived for a striking external appearance, using unique panel cladding, strong aluminium feature detailing and Velfac aluminium anthracite coloured windows and doors.
