The first projects undertaken early on in the business were generally individual single dwellings or pairs of new homes.
One of the first schemes involved redevelopment of an old coach house and dairy in Worcestershire, in the curtilage of a listed Georgian Gentlemen’s Residence. A sensitive scheme reflecting the previous historic ‘barn type’ building was required by the Conservations team.
The first project in Devon right alongside the foreshore in Kingsbridge created a pair of luxury apartments. The land was the first deal (in 2003) with a local landowner, whose Boatyard site we’re just developing – the third piece of land we’ve worked on with him.
A traditional half timbered Warwickshire home was created on the site of a dilapidated bungalow. Once again this location was in a Conservation area and in Green Belt so careful design considerations were needed. A highly detailed interior included oak trusses with fully vaulted ceilings.
